Abstract
1340225 Cathode ray tubes PHILCO-FORD CORP 16 Aug 1971 [14 Aug 1970] 38354/71 Heading H1D A process for making a multi-dot colour screen for a cathode ray tube comprises the steps of coating a panel with a light-sensitive layer comprising polyvinyl alcohol, dibasic calcium phosphate and ammonium dichromate and exposing and treating the layer to leave an array of dots, covering the panel with a lightabsorbing material then removing the dots together with the overlying areas of the lightabsorbing material with a solution of hydrogen peroxide and tribasic sodium phosphate to leave an array of holes for the reception of phosphor dots. The light-absorbing material can be lampblack suspended in isopropyl alcohol and water.
