Abstract

1339121 Vapour vacuum pumps BRITISH OXYGEN CO Ltd [trading as EDWARDS HIGH VACUUM INTERNATIONALI 26 April 1972 19381/72 Heading F1E A vapour vacuum pump has an inlet valve 12 from which the housing flares outwardly to a portion of maximum diameter then inwardly to join a cylindrical portion 26 the internal diameter of which is approximately equal to that of the valve opening. A baffle assembly is located in the portion of maximum diameter and includes a nozzle cap 52 and skirt 54, the cap supporting the upper nozzle part 40 by devices 56, 58 and spring 41; the cap in turn is supported by a strap (84) from the housing. The outlet 18 has a separate cold trap 20, the outlet 22 from which is connected to a valve (88), Fig. 2, (not shown), which is also connected by a pipe (76) to the pump inlet above the valve member, so that the outlet 22 and pipe (76) may be connected to the backing/roughing pump.
