Abstract

1339117 Puffing tobacco REYNOLDS LEASING CORP 23 June 1972 [7 July 1971] 29634/72 Heading A2C Tobacco, having a moisture content of at least 10% by weight, is impregnated with at least 10 parts by weight of a volatile organic liquid per 100 parts by weight of the tobacco (dry basis) and is then exposed to a source of microwave energy to cause vapourisation of the said liquid whereby the tobacco is puffed. The use of the organic liquids pentane and trichloromonofluoromethane is exemplified, but many other suitable organic liquids are specified.
