Abstract

1338601 Endless conveyers MAVOR & COULSON Ltd 19 April 1971 [26 Feb 1970] 9332/70 Heading B8A An endless conveyer e.g. for use in mines is driven by sprockets 2 mounted at one end thereof on a shaft 3 which is coaxial with and connected to the output shaft 11 of a first gear-box 5 which is connected via a second gear-box 6 to an electric motor 4, the output shaft 9 of the gear-box 6 which continues as the input shaft 10 of the gear-box 5 being offset from the motor shaft 7 so that the position of the motor 4 relative to the gear-box 5 and conveyer can be adjusted about the axis of the gear-box input shaft 10, the first gear-box 5 being pivotal about the axis of its output shaft 11. In a second embodiment, Fig. 7 (not shown), the motor shaft (7A) lies parallel to the conveyer and is thus at right angles to the output shaft (9A) of the second gear-box (6A).
