Abstract

1,078,592. Screw conveyer for discharging material. POLYSIUS S.A.R.L. Feb. 21, 1966 [Feb. 19, 1965], No. 7459/66. Heading B8A. Pasty material contained within walls 28 and 29 and resting on floor 1 are discharged over edge 2 on to endless conveyer 3 by a pair of screw conveyers 23, 24 carried on bar 13 mounted between carriages 11 and 12 running on rails 8 and 8a. Carriage 12 supports motors 25, 26 to drive the respective screws and also motor 22 which drives two pinions (16) (not shown) which engage with racks 9 and 9a. Arms 19 are provided which serve to reverse motor 22 at the end of a reciprocating cycle and also serve to limit the torque so that when the material clogs the screw the drive is cut off until the screw clears.
