Abstract

The machine has forks engaging in pallets and mounted on a supporting arm moving along a transverse guide and extending at right angles from it. The forks slew through 180 deg. between the two directions of travel of the transverse guide. The slewing forks also slide along the supporting arm. There can be a single rotary drive unit on the arm, working through clutches so as to slide it along the guide, slew the forks, or slew and slide at the same time, with a pinion meshing with a rack on the guide. A crank mechanism for slewing and sliding can also be provided.
