Abstract

1337892 Hand-tool handles STANLEY WORKS 2 March 1972 [3 May 1971] 9762/72 Heading B4K A moulded hand-saw blade holder comprises a handle portion 10 formed from synthetic resinous material and having a longitudinal passageway for slidably seating a blade 12, an integral rigid support portion 24 of generally inverted U-shape extending from the handle to provide support for the blade at a point spaced from the handle and means 38, 46 on the free end of the support portion for clamping the blade, the external configuration of the handle 10 being such as to provide longitudinal ribs 21, 16 along the upper and lower side margins and recessed side portions 18 therebetween. The forward end of the passageway in the handle 10 is of cross-section as shown in Fig. 6 but widens out rearwardly to the octagonal section shown in Fig. 7 this arrangement providing for easy insertion of the blade from the rear of the handle and firm support and location of the blade in use.
