Abstract

1337704 Electric timepieces SUWA SEIKOSHA K K 19 Jan 1972 [12 Feb 1971] 2578/72 Heading G3T A timepiece having a tuning fork whose oscillations provide a time standard and are converted into rotary movement of a gear train, for example, by a ratchet wheel and pawl (9, 10), Fig. 1. (not shown), is provided with a driving circuit including at least a P-N-P transistor 15 and an N-P-N transistor 16 whose collectors are connected respectively to the ends of a two-terminal coil 19 for driving the tuning fork. The circuit which includes resistors 18, 21 and a condenser 17, is stated to be selfoscillating even when the tuning fork is stationary, and if its frequency is substantially the same as the natural frequency of the fork the latter is easily stimulated. A condenser 20 bypasses unwanted harmonics.
