Abstract

1337609 Radiographic films MINNESOTA MINING & MFG CO 23 April 1971 [24 April 1970] 11050/71 Heading H5R [Also in Division G2] A radiographic element comprises a transparent base, a light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer coated on each side of the base and a protective layer coated on each emulsion layer, the element including a dye filter having a high absorption to yellow light and a high transmission to blue light and which is present in sufficient amount to form a filter having a total optical density to yellow light not less than 0À4 and a total optical density to blue light not higher than 0À1, the filter being symmetrically distributed in the layers of the element so that the filter itself is present, for 15-35% of the total optical density to yellow light in the base and for the remaining part in the two emulsion layers and optionally in the two protective layers, the filter present in the two emulsion layers being not less than one half of the remaining part. The dye is preferably cuprophthalocyanine, but other dyes are specified.
