Abstract
1337431 Mooring structure W KOHRING 19 April 1971 [19 March 1970] 13263/70 Addition to 1199153 Heading B7S [Also in Division E1] The mono-mooring structure of Specification 1,199,153 is adapted to be completely submerged. Mooring arms 23, 26, respectively attached to the first and second rotatable head parts 16, 20, are downwardly cranked, and a single or double walled shield 19 covers the whole of the mooring head 15. The space within the shield may be filled with lubricating oil or a foam lubricant, or (Fig. 3, not shown) a lubricant may be circulated through the space from lines attached to surface buoys. A tower 8 incorporating an oil feed or discharge pipe 9 is attached to the structure and extends above the water surface 34. Alternatively, no tower is provided, the pipe 9 being connected through a further pipe to a surface buoy. The raisable weight structure 30 may be formed by a container 32 which after installation can be filled from the surface with powdered barite or heavy mud.
