Claims (14)

WHAT WE CLAIM IS:
1. A floating device or use on the sea with machines and equipment or the preparation of mineral resources, particularly for the liquefaction of gases, comprising a flotation body which, on its upper side, has an open liquid reservoir in which a carrier platform for the preparation work plant is held in a floatin manner.
2. A device as claimed in Claim 1, wherein side walls of the liquid reservoir end with a spacing above the water-line of the flotation body.
3. A device as claimed in Claim 1 or 2, wherein the carrier platform comprises a plurality of parts each of which are capable of floating in themselves and are releasably connected together.
4. A device as claimed in any one of Claims 1 to 3, wherein a wall of the liquid reservoir is constructed releasably at least partially like a door.
5. A device as claimed in any one of Claims 1, to 4 wherein the carrier platform is elastically connected to the flotatio body.
6. A device as claimed in Claim 5, wherein the carrier platform is connected to the flotation body by means of gas-filled fenders arranged between the platform edge and the wall of the liquid reservoir.
7. A device as c laimed in any one of Claims 1 to 6, wherein the lotation body is provided with bunkers for the accommodation of the prepared treated material.
8. A device as claimed in Claim 7, wherein at least one part of the bunker is thermally insulated, particularly . in the case of gas liquefaction.
9. A device as claimed in any one of Claims 1 to 8, wherein the lotation body is constructed rotationally symmetrically with respect to its vertical axis.
10. A device as claimed in any one of Claims 1 to 9, wherein the flotation body has a plurality of preferably symmetrically arranged flood tanks.
11. A floatable vessel comprising a main floatable body containing a liquid reservoir; and a platform in the reservoir floatable on a contained liquid to maintain the platform in a substantially horizontal disposition.
12. A method of maintaining a platform in substantially horizontal disposition on a floatable vessel comprising floating the platform in a liquid containing reservoir provided in the body of the vessel.
13. A floatable vessel substantially as described,herein with reference to, or as illustrated in, the drawings.
14. A method of maintaining a platform in substantially horizontal disposition on a floatable vessel substantially as described herein*
