Abstract
1336841 Power plant, charging I.C. engines ISUZU MOTORS Ltd 19 April 1971 [7 April 1970] 26155/71 Headings F1B F1Q An I.C. engine comprises a volumetric compressor 1 driven at a constant ratio by the crankshaft and serving as an intake supercharger and a generator for micro fuel particles, a fuel droplet separator 3 between the compressor and the engine and an exhaust gas driven turbine 6 which drives a shaft 24 through a differential gear train. A belt and pulley system 14 drives the compressor 1 which receives about 20% of the engine full load fuel supply through a nozzle 10. This fuel is partly converted into a vapour and partly converted into micro-sized paticles, the remaining coarse fuel droplets being separated in the separator 3 and the charge being cooled in cooler 3. The exhaust turbine 6 drives shaft 24 through gears 16, 18, 26, sun gear 25, planetary gear 21 and internal gear 22. The compressor 1 may be a Lysholm compressor or Roots blower.
