Abstract
1335665 Debarring apparatus; filing GLYNWED STEELS Ltd 19 April 1971 [3 March 1970] 10000/70 Headings B3K and B3L Apparatus for deburring a workpiece such as a steel flat 28 (Fig. 2) comprises a pair of units 29, 30 each of which (Fig. 1) mounts a rotatable cutter 18 axially spaced from a surface formed on a guide means 22, resilient means, such as a coil spring 19, being provided to act on the cutter to urge the latter towards the guide means 22. The cutter 18 may be freely rotatable on, or secured to, a rotatable sleeve 13 concentric with a spindle 10 fixed between supports 11, 12. The guide means 22 is chamfered as at 22a, to provide a lead-in for the edge of a flat to be deburred. The guide means 22 is supported by a collar 26 which is axially adjustable along the spindle to vary the spacing 27 of the guide surface of the guide means 22 and cutter 18 in accordance with a selected distance piece 23. In use the flat is drawn between the two units, so that its longitudinal edges to be deburred run between the cutters 18 and guide means 22. A pair of filing units 31, 32 may be provided downstream from the units 29, 30. Each filing unit includes a file 41 clamped by a piece 42 to a support plate 39 which is pivoted to an arm 35. The latter is pivoted to a bracket 33 between which and arm 35 a spring 36 and range-ofmovement limiter 37, 38 act. Springs 43, 44 act between the support plate and arm 35, one on each side of the pivot 40.
