Abstract

1333844 Lasers SIEMENS AG 19 April 1971 [20 Feb 1970] 21666/71 Heading H1C A gas laser capillary tube 1, Fig. 1, is sealed by a window or mirror 6 mounted on a plastically deformable metal member 2 to allow initial adjustment of the window or mirror. As shown in Fig. 1, the metal mount has a constriction 4 which weakens it; a screw-driver blade may be placed in the constriction to deform the metal. This constriction also provides mode control as in Specification 1,266,470. Fig. 2 shows an alternative metal mount which is adjustable by pinching the region 7, e.g. with pliers. The metal mount may form an electrode. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,256,118.
