Abstract

1333691 Junction pieces E LUDVIGSEN 22 June 1972 [25 June 1971] 29242/72 Heading F2G A junction piece for a central heating system has main supply and return bores 3, 4, Figs. 2, 3, and is formed from a partition wall 9 having branch pipes 7, 8, welded to it by mounting similar half-portions 1, 2 on opposite sides of the wall in a jig and welding the parts together. The half-portions 1, 2 have branch pipes 5, 6 welded on before assembly, and are provided with holes 10 slipped over branches 7, 8 already welded to the partition wall 9. As shown the branch pipes 7, 8 extend from each side of the junction piece, but alternatively they may extend to one side only. In a modification, the partition wall 19, Figs. 5, 6, has alternate oppositely-directed recesses 20 to which branches 16, 18 extending from one side of the junction piece are welded; on the opposite side, further branches (15, 17), Fig. 4 (not shown), are welded. Two similar half-portions 11, 12, having main supply and return bores 13, 14 are assembled to the wall 19 in a jig, and the parts are welded together.
