Abstract

1333433 Variable resistors WALTER PREH GmbH 14 Oct 1970 [17 Oct 1969] 48913/70 Heading H1S A variable double resistor has rectilinear resistance strips 4 and contact strips 5 on each side of a T-shaped base member 1 which is formed of two L-shaped parts 1<SP>1</SP>, 1<SP>11</SP> separated by a shielding plate 3. A saddle shaped slider 2, also in two parts, slides along the top 11 of the base and has pins 22 holding slide springs 23 in contact with the contact and resistance strips. The two arms of the slider 2<SP>1</SP>, 2<SP>11</SP> are connected mechanically by detent arms 21 (Fig. 4, not shown) which pass through a longitudinal slot 8 in the base. The contact strips 5 may have cross-sections other than circular and are set into channels (7, Fig. 3a, not shown) in the thermoplastic base member have bent over end portions 5<SP>1</SP> which serve as terminals 6. At each end the base may have projections (30) (Fig. 5, not shown) with pins (31) and recesses to attach several resistors together, and a box-like frame 40 (Fig. 7) may be provided to house them. The-frame has resilient arms 43 to retain the resistors and shielding plates 46 in slots 45 between the resistors.
