Abstract

1,161,337. Magnetic switches. THORN ELECTRONICS Ltd. 19 Oct., 1967 [9 Nov., 1966], No. 50246/66. Heading H1N. A potential divider has individual toppings connected through respective magneticallyoperable contact units to an output terminal and each contact unit is in series with a respective resistor having a resistance which is high relative to that of the resistors of the potential divider. The contact units are operable by a movable magnet on a manuallyoperable control member. The operating magnet 10 is mounted on the control dolly 19 which is biased to the position shown by a spring 20. The contact units 13 to 18 are screened by a magnetic plate 26 having fingers 27 acting as flux guides for adjacent contact units which are both operated when the magnet is halfway between them. The contact units are mounted on a printed circuit-board 21 which has plug-in connectors 29. In Fig. 2 (not shown), a relatively high resistance and a capacitor are connected across the output terminals.
