Abstract

1,203,863. Variable resistors. W. PREH [trading as PREH ELEKTROFEINMECHANISCHE WERKE JAKOB PREH NACHFOLGER]. 29 May, 1968 [19 June, 1967], No. 25844/68. Heading H1S. Two similar half shells 1, 1<SP>1</SP> are each provided with an endless guide groove 7 to receive a band 8 and are secured by rivets or snap fasteners. A resistance track 11 is mounted in one shell and a metal contact track 11 in the other. Both tracks have connecting lugs 3. A slider 4 guided in grooves 5 carries a wiper spring 10 having contacts engaging the two tracks. The slider slot is sealed, in all positions of the slider, by the band 8 made of metal or plastics slats. The guide grooves 5 have openings to permit actuation of an associated switch. Alternative nuts 14 for fixing are located in cavities 13. Studs 15 and recesses 16 locate resistances when fixed together. Screening plates maybe mounted between such resistances.
