Abstract

1332571 Electric incandescent lamps PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd 31 Aug 1971 [3 Sept 1970] 40570/71 Heading H1F A tubular electric filament lamp has a longitudinal filament 3 comprising a number of helically wound sections 5 interconnected by straight intermediate members 6 in which the longer sections nearer the pinches 2 have two supports 7 and the shorter sections nearer the centre of the envelope have a single support, wherein, for the sections 5a, 5b, 5f and 5g provided with two supports, the supports 7a<SP>1</SP> 7b, 7f and 7g, present between the supports 7a and 7g adjoining the pinches are provided at the ends of the respective sections. This supporting arrangement obviates warping of the intermediate members adjacent the longer sections due to the recrystallization process. Each support 7 includes a central aperture locating the relevant section and its outer circumference engages the envelope wall. The lamp provides a uniform illumination for copying reproduction purposes.
