Abstract
1331533 Preserving beverages under inert gas atmosphere MESSER GRIESHEIM GmbH 17 May 1971 [24 June 1970] 15295/71 Heading C6E A method of improving the keeping properties of an alcoholic beverage (beer) which comprises carrying out the preparation, and any aftertreatment of the alcoholic beverages in an inert gas (e.g. N 2 or Ar) atmosphere. Preferably an elevated pressure of the gas is applied during after-fermentation, decanting, filling of containers and during storage of the beverage. During bottling the bottles are preferably evacuated and then pressurized with nitrogen prior to filling with beverage.
