Abstract

1331433 Column and beam coverings COLCRETE Ltd A G CROWE and P J KELSEY 19 April 1971 [3 Dec 1969] 59104/69 Headings E1K and E1W A column or beam of, e.g. steel, is given a fire-resistant covering using shuttering, of, e.g. steel, into which is pumped or injected a settable, fire-resistant liquid material, e.g. a portland cement grout having an air-entraining agent mixed therein. A sheet metal shutter 33 for an I-beam (Fig. 3) is glued or bolted to a floor 32, and has one or more lower inlet holes 35 and upper outlet holes 36 for the grout, which is pumped into holes 35 under pressure. A column shutter 41, (Fig. 4) has two sheet metal members 42, 43 held together by clips 45, the joints between members 42, 43 being glued together. (For Figures see next page)
