Abstract

1331401 Dyeing yarns VALD HENRIKSEN AS 22 Feb 1972 [24 Feb 1971] 8100/72 Heading D1L Apparatus for dyeing yarns wound on bobbins comprises a vat for the dye liquor (not shown), and a plurality of perforated distributor pipes 1 fed with dye liquor from a distributor chamber 2 mounted in the vat, each perforated pipe 1 having bobbins of yarn 4 mounted thereon and being provided internally with a coil spring 3 which extends along a major portion and preferably along the complete length of the pipe. The bobbins may be mounted on cylindrical perforated tubes 5 on the distributor pipe, these tubes 5 being cylindrical or conical (see upper and lower bobbins respectively in Figure 1), or the bobbins may be mounted directly on the pipe 1 as indicated in the central position in Fig. 1. The perforations 7 in the distributor' pipe 1 are preferably formed by punching a tab 8 (see Fig. 2) in the pipe and bending this tab inwards so that the dye liquor is directed tangentially out the pipe, alternate rows of perforations 7 being formed in the pipe to direct the dye liquor in opposite directions.
