1331304 Ion-exchange apparatus CLARKE CHAPMAN-JOHN THOMPSON Ltd 9 Sept 1971 [9 July 1970 (4)] 33285/70 33286/70 33287/70 and 33288/70 Heading B1J Equipment for treating liquids comprises a container in which there is a bed of material by which liquid is treated and in which there is a liquid distribution or collection lateral system which includes similar laterals, each lateral being formed from a plurality of elements having end formations by which they are inter-engaged, the laterals having liquid distribution or collection apertures through their walls. As described with reference to an ion-exchange apparatus, a casing 10 contains a bed 23 of resin and is fitted with inlets 11, 12 above the bed and outlet 13 below the bed. The outlet comprises a header and a number of laterals secured by brackets 22.
