Abstract

1330670 Extruding CRANE ENFIELD METALS PTY Ltd 3 Nov 1970 [26 Nov 1969] 52136/70 Heading B3P A piercing mandrel 10 of a horizontal tube extrusion press has its tip mounted for limited radial movement within the extrusion die so that it is kept central within the die by the extrusion forces. The tip comprises a sleeve 22 loosely fitted on a stem 23 and axially limited by a cap 25. The extruded metal is copper and its alloys. The tube produced has a uniform wall thickness.
