Abstract
1329613 Convertible ladders R F HILL Ltd 19 April 1971 [27 Aug 1970] 41174/70 Heading E1S A convertible long and step ladder comprises two ladder sections 10, 11 pivotally connected together, the section 10 having longer stiles, and a detachable platform 12 which is engageable with corresponding rungs of the two ladder sections to hold them in their stepladder position, a latch 20 being provided on the ladder section 11, which may be swung upwardly when the platform is removed to form the long ladder, to engage with a bar 15 extending between the upper ends of the stiles of the section 10 to secure the sections in such position. The platform 12 has a pair of abutments on opposed sides to hook over upper rungs of the ladder sections, and is provided with a turnkey 24 for retaining the rung of the section 11 so that the platform is temporarily pivotally attached thereto. The section 11 may have guides thereon for a further ladder section extensible relative thereto in the long ladder position.
