Abstract

1329420 Flexible hinges PERFONIT Ltd 30 July 1971 [10 Aug 1970] 38395/70 Heading E2F A flexible hinge is formed between two adjacent panels 2 by means of an I sectioned flexible strip 8 gripped between two pairs of rigid strips 4, 6 secured to the panels 2. To permit movement through 90‹ in either direction, the faces of the rigid strips directed towards the other panel are bevelled at 28. The rigid strips 4, 6 are preferably made of hardwood and are adjustably urged together by wood screws 20. The edges of panels 12 are located in a groove formed by two rebates 2 and one rigid strip of each pair is fixed to the adjacent panel 2 by panel pins 25a and/or adhesive 25b.
