Abstract

1329318 Sampling process stream and measurement of its acidity &c TEXACO DEVELOPMENT CORP 1 Dec 1971 55684/71 Heading B1X [Also in Division G1] Apparatus for sampling a product stream flowing under super-atmospheric pressure in lines 11, 13 and making measurements of the acidity or basicity of a liquid constituent of the sample comprises upstanding column 21, lines 16, 18 for feeding a part of the stream under pressure to the columns and allowing the required constituent to settle in the column, auxiliary path 28, 30 for flow of the settled portion back to the stream, means 29 for removing a sample of the settled constituent from the auxiliary path and means 46 for making the acidity or basicity measurements on the removed sample. The constituent to be determined may be the aqueous acid constituent of an oil-alkylation process stream. A sample of the settled acid phase is flushed by wash medium from sampling valve 29 into automatic titration vessel 46 for titration with alkali (see Group Gl).
