Abstract
1329293 Making tubes; rolling KERNVERFAHRENSTECHNIK mbH GES FUR 16 Nov 1970 [19 Nov 1969] 54381/70 Headings B3A and B3M A ring, tube, or container of fibre-reinforced material is formed by winding metal coated filaments, or filaments and a metal matrix, around a core roller 3. The material is hot rolled between the core roller and a pressure roller 2 during the winding. When uncoated filaments are used, the matrix may be in sheet, strip, or wire form. The roller 2 may be inclined in a horizontal plane relative to the roller 3, and either roller may be reciprocated along its axis relative to the other, the feed of the material simultaneously being reciprocated. Several rollers 2 may be provided, and the roller 3 can be heated by an internal or external flame or by an electric inductance or resistance heater. Plates may be produced by cutting a wound workpiece.
