1328995 Magnesium/resin agglomerates E I HERNANDEZ 4 Nov 1970 52361/70 Heading C3R [Also in Division C7] A magnesium/resin agglomerate is prepared by mixing magnesium powder with a liquid heat hardenable resin, adding a powdered resin, mixing until homogeneous and then heating to effect hardening. The resins are preferably of the phenolic type, the powdered resin preferably being a novolak modified with hexamethylenetetramine, and the liquid resin preferably being a urea modified phenol-formaldehyde resin. Calcium carbide, cryolite and hexachloroethane may be added. The agglomerate may be formed into a briquette prior to hardening. Uses.-Desulphuring and pelletizing iron.
