Abstract

1328914 Brakes KNORR-BREMSE GmbH 9 Feb 1972 [9 Feb 1971] 6149/72 Heading F2F [Also in Division B7] Air from a brake control valve 3 is fed to the operating cylinder 10 of a railway disc brake through a transmitter 7 which modifies the pressure in dependence on vehicle load, and meanwhile, a cleaning block 26 is applied to the wheel by a cylinder 30 which receives the pressure, without modification, direct from the control valve. The cleaning block may apply all of the braking for light braking, and on heavy loading accounts for that part of the braking due to the weight of the vehicle itself.
