Abstract

1328692 Impact pulverizers BRITISH IRON & STEEL RESEARCH ASSOCIATION 28 May 1971 [29 May 1970] 26138/70 Heading B2A A comminuting apparatus comprises a conveyor belt 24 Fig. 3 to throw a jet of particles at a target 27, which is inclined to the direction of the jet. The comminuted particles and remaining uncomminuted particles are removed from the target surface continuously. Material is supplied at 21 to a hopper 22 and discharged at speeds from 20 to 100 ft/sec from the belt 24, which is driven by pulleys 25. The target 27 is adjustable. Alternatively a fixed curved, straight or scalloped target Fig. 2 may be used. The particles are sized at 52, oversize being recycled on line 53. Undersize is screened and rejected at 55, the product leaving at 56. In the embodiment of Fig. 3 the angle of the target 27 is adjustable by means of a screw 43, Fig. 4, which is arranged in a pivotable mounting and by adjustment of a rod 35 which is locked by a clamp 36.
