Abstract
1391609 Granulation plant FISONS Ltd 5 April 1972 [1 May 1971] 12589/71 Heading B5A A granulation plant comprises a granulation train (granulator 3, drier 5 and cooler 10) situated alongside a single-line conveyer device 1 at a single level, the arrangement being such that the conveyer device receives raw material from a source 17 and also reject material from a classifier 14 and supplies these materials to an elevator 2 which feeds the granulation train. The granulator, drier and cooler may all be of the rotary drum type, the drier being heated by a burner 6. They may be inclined at about 2 degrees to the horizontal and linked by a shoot 4 and elevator 9. The cooled particles are discharged to an elevator 13 feeding a vibrating double screen classifier inclined at about 35 degrees and discharging product-sized particles to storage and oversize particles to a crusher 16 where they are crushed and fed to the conveyer belt 1 together with undersized particles direct from the classifier. The drier 5 and cooler 10 are each provided with dust outlets 7 and 11 which feed cyclone separators 8 and 12 to return fine particles to the conveyer; alternatively both may feed the same cyclone. The raw material hoppers 17 feed the conveyer via belts 18. In an alternative arrangement (Fig. 2, not shown) the conveyer device 1 is in two sections in line with each other but travelling in opposite directions, each section being fed by two of the raw material hoppers and both sections discharging on to the elevator 2. Other types of conveyers, e.g. screws, may be used instead of belts.
