Abstract

557,521. Ore crushers. ROSS, W. April 16, 1942, No. 5064. [Class 59] Ores, stone, or like materials are fed along an inclined plate or shoot d to independently driven crushing rolls a, a' having relatively staggered rows of teeth b, the shoot d being formed with vanes or nibs corresponding to the tooth circles so that the small material is directed to the lanes between the teeth. One roller may be provided wih a number of larger shatter " or "slugger" knobs c and the spaces between the rows of teeth may be formed with channels. A crusher having rolls 72 inches wide designed to crush material down to 4 inches may have gripping teeth 1¢ inches deep and "slugger" knobs 3¢ inches deep, spaced in rows 22 inches apart. The distance betwen the rolls may be adjustable.
