1328468 Hatch covers NAVIRE CARGO GEAR AB 18 Feb 1972 [18 Feb 1971] 7692/72 Heading B7S A hatch cover comprises three pivotally interconnected sections 10, 11, 12, one end of a first, 10, of the sections being pivotally connected to one end of the coaming surrounding the hatch opening and a pressure fluid operated ram 16 is attached between the first section and a side of the coaming. A guided member 19 mounted on one end of the ram is movable in slot 18 on a side of the first section, a first pulley 20 is mounted on the guided member and a second pulley 21 is mounted on the first section adjacent the connection between the first and second hatch sections. A wire 22, one end of which is connected to the first section at point 23 between the first and second pulleys is guided over the second pulley then the first pulley and again the second pulley, and its other end is connected to the third section 12 at a point 24 towards the end of the third section remote from the connection between the second and third sections. The ram is in a contracted position when the cover is closed so that when the ram is extended the first and second sections are raised into a folded together vertical position. Subsequent contraction of the ram increases the distance between the first and second pulleys thereby raising the third section into a vertical position adjacent to the first and second sections.
