Abstract

1328318 Colour electro-photography FUJI PHOTO FILM CO Ltd 31 Aug 1971 [28 Aug 1970] 40663/71 Heading G2H A dye-sensitised photo-conductive member 12 of extended spectral sensitivity and having the property of remaining persistently conductive after exposure to light in one region but only momentarily conductive during exposure in a second region is charged and exposed using light within both regions to an original having an area 32 which is opaque to both regions and an area 33 which is opaque only to said one region, the resulting charge image (corresponding to area 32) is developed with black or coloured toner, the developed member (which still bears a conductivity image complementary to area 33) is recharged to produce a charge image (corresponding to areas 32 and 33, or only area 33 if the first toner includes an anticharging agent) and the second charge image is developed with toner visibly distinct from the first toner. Wet or dry development may be used in either stage. Two wet developments may be effected without intermediate drying.
