1327076 Cutting IWATSU ELECTRIC CO Ltd 30 Sept 1970 [15 April 1970) 46442/70 Heading B4B A copying machine includes a rotary blade 1, a fixed counter knife 11, a rotary solenoid 2 for actuating the blade 1 and an anti-backlash mechanism attached to a free axial end of the rotary blade 1 so that the blade 1 may be oscillated by an engaging element 4 of the solenoid 2 without play. An axial extension 5 of the blade 1 mounts a cross pin 6 for engagement in a slot of the element 4, and the anti-backlash mechanism may include a pulley 9 mounted on a shaft portion 1b of the blade 1 and a string 9a attached between the pulley 9 and a biasing spring 8. Alternatively, Fig. 7 (not shown) the string 9a may suspend a weight (16) within a protecting casing 17. Further, Fig. 9, the blade 1 may reciprocate axially as it oscillates by means of a cam track co-operating with a ball 26 in an attachment 24, a spring (not shown) urging the blade 1 towards a cam ring 20. The blade 1 may have a cutting edge of straight or helical form, Fig. 8A (not shown).
