1326596 Selenosemicarbazides ILFORD Ltd 14 Sept 1971 [30 Sept 1970] 46526/70 Heading C2C Selenosemicarbazides of the general formula in which R 1 is hydrogen or an alkyl, aryl, or aralkyl or heterocyclic group, are prepared by reacting a selenosemicarbazone of general formula in which one of R 2 and R 3 is hydrogen or an alkyl or aralkyl group and the other is an alkyl or aralkyl group or together complete a cycloalkyl group with a free hydrazine of formula NH 2 NHR 4 in which R 4 is hydrogen or a C 1 -C 6 alkyl group which is optionally substituted, an aryl group or an aralkyl group or with a hydrate of such a hydrazine in the presence of an inert organic solvent.
