Abstract

1326573 Pulse generators TELEFUNKEN PATENTVERWERTUNGS GmbH 29 Oct 1970 [29 Oct 1969] 51503/70 Addition to 1279159 Heading H3T [Also in Division G4] In a modification of the pulse generator of the parent Specification 1,279,159 having a trigger stage 1 for periodically interrupted operation of a plurality of parallel connected loads such as lamps L 1 , L 2 or L 3 , L 4 , a resistor Lk in the form of an indicating lamp is connected between the loads and the supply voltage in the intervals in operation such that during the intervals in operation a measuring current flows through the loads to cause a volt drop which is supplied to a switch T 3 , T 4 so that if one or more of the loads fail the state of the switch T 3 , T 4 changes during the intervals in operation in comparison with that with intact loads so that a voltage divider R 1 , R 2 alters the charge on the timing capacitor C so as to alter the pulse frequency of the generator. With the switch S L as shown T 1 is on and T 2 is off. Closing switch S L to a or b turns T 1 off and T 2 on so that relay contact S R closes to light the lamps L 1 , L 2 or L 3 , L 4 selected. The timing capacitor C operates to switch T 1 o n and T 2 off releasing contact S R and switching off the load lamps L 1 , L 2 or L 3 , L 4 . Indicating lamp L K lights and the voltage at the emitters of transistors T 3 and T 4 with the loads intact make T 4 on and T 3 off. When one or more loads fail the voltage at the emitters of T 3 , T 4 make T 4 off and T 3 on to alter the time constant of the pulse generator so that the frequency rate of illumination of lamp L K is increased to indicate this failure. A resistor R 8 of relatively high value ensures that the pulse generator operates even on failure of the tell-tale lamp L K . The pulse generator 1 may be in integrated circuit form.
