Abstract

1326361 Catching animals C BROWN 6 Nov 1970 [15 Aug 1969] 40804/69 Addition to 1123701 Heading AIM [Also in Division E2[ A device for projecting missiles comprises a plurality of missile ejectors 10, 11 pivotably mounted on a body member so as to be angularly displaceable relatively to one another between first and second positions, means to latch releasably the ejectors in their first positions and means to resiliently urge the ejectors into the second positions on release of the latching means, the arrangement being such that all the ejectors are triggered simultaneously for ejecting a missile from each ejector after the release of the latching means. A net is attached to the missiles at points spaced apart along its periphery. In the construction shown the urging means consists of a spring loaded plunger 46 which is connected to the ejectors by pivoted arms 51, 52, 53, 54, the latching means which is a manually actuated spring loaded rod 76 engaging a projection 86 on the arm 51 to hold the ejectors in their first position. The ejectors each house a spring 22 which is compressed to cock the ejector, a pin 26 of the spring 22 engaging a sear 28 to hold the spring in its cocked condition. Each arm 51, 52, 53, 54 has a transverse pin 68 which cooperates with a respective sear 28 during the spreading of the ejectors so that the ejectors are fired as the ejectors reach their second positions.
