Abstract

1326273 Carpet sweepers LEIFHEIT INTERNATIONAL GUNTER LEIFHEIT KG 16 Nov 1970 [15 Nov 1969] 54435/70 Heading A4F A carpet sweeper includes a housing having a lower frame portion 11 of plastics or like readily deformable material connected to an upper portion 12 of a sheet metal or like substantially rigid material, and bearing brackets 24 carried by the portion 11 for supporting running wheels 19 and at least one brush roller 18. The bearing brackets 24 are secured to the side walls of the frame 11 by the engagement of guide bars 28 Fig. 5 (not shown) moulded on to the brackets with vertical guide bars (25) moulded on to the frame 11, whereby a wedge shaped projection 30 Fig. 6, (not shown) on each bracket 24 engages a locking recess (32) in the frame 11. The housing component 12 has a flange 31 engaging beneath a rim 32 of the frame 11, the parts 31, 32 being pressed together by members 32 projecting from the brackets 24. The shafts of the running wheels 19, are introduced through tapered apertures 39 into horizontally extending bearing slots 35 in the brackets 24. The brush roller 28 is mounted in a yoke 22 supported between vertical guide bars 23 on the brackets 24 and adjustable by a rotary cam member 45 against the action of springs to set the roller 28 at the desired height in the housing.
