Abstract
1324572 Rotary drum filter MAGYAR TUDOMANYOS AKADEMIA BANYASZATI KUTATO MONKAKOZOSSEGE 31 March 1971 8358/71 Heading B1D A process for continuously filtering a liquid using a rotary vacuum filtration apparatus in which a rotary filter drum rotates while partly immersed in the liquid to be filtered comprises, during the rotation of the drum, applying at least one layer of precoat from a suspension to a filter surface of the drum prior to immersion of the thus precoated surface in the liquid, the liquid then being filtered during rotation of the drum by suction of liquid through the precoated surface into the interior of the drum, whereafter the precoat and solid and/or liquid matter deposited thereon are removed from the drum surface to present the latter for reception of further precoat. The process is characterised in that the precoat layer is applied by suction inside the drum which is at a value less than the suction applied during filtration of the liquid, and the filtrate from the precoat suspension and that from the liquid are recovered separately.
