Abstract

1324341 Jig for holding radiators CLYDESDALE RADIATOR CO Ltd 16 March 1971 7042/71 Heading B4X A jig for use in the manufacture and repair of radiators for engine cooling systems and other articles which require attention throughout their peripheral lengths, comprises a pair of coaxial jaws 48, 49 relatively movable to each other and supported by opposed horizontal arms 46, 47 of a U-shaped yoke, first locking means, Fig. 4, freeable to release said yoke for rotary movement, and second locking means freeable to release jaw 49 so that the jaws 48, 49 can move in unison about their common axis whilst clamping a radiator therebetween. The yoke is welded to a collar 24 and a spigot 25 of a shaft 23. The first locking means operates on this shaft and comprises blocks 33, 34 movable toward and away from each other to be able to grip the shaft by curved end portions. Jaw 49 has similar locking means acting on shaft 68 and is also restricted from axial movement. Jaw 48 is mounted on a ball 50 which is connected to the piston of an air cylinder 55. The jaws are faced with rubber pads.
