Abstract
1323949 Ignition systems TEXACO DEVELOPMENT CORP 28 Oct 1971 [22 Dec 1970] 50106/71 Heading F1B A continuous wave high frequency ignition system comprises a unitary magnetic circuit type of oscillator 11 for providing high frequency ignition energy, engine timed current flow control means 52 for controlling operation of the oscillator, means associated with the current flow control means 45 for applying a magnetic bias to the magnetic circuit when the current flow control means is in one state and removing the bias when the current flow control means goes to the other state whereby to control starting of the oscillator and means (small capacity capacitor 56) for absorbing initial surge effects at the current flow control means when the bias is removed whereby the oscillator will start and continue oscillating while the current flow control means is in the other state. In addition there is provided a diode bridge 57 and associated larger capacitor 66. A large capacity capacitor 70 is connected to the centre tap of the primary winding 26.
