Abstract

1323899 Elapsed-time recorders PHOTOMECHANIK 10 Sept 1970 [20 Sept 1969] 43262/70 Heading G4T An elapsed-time recorder comprises a clock mechanism 2, a time stamp 7 mounted for rotation on shaft 3 of mechanism 2, a casing 11 mounted for movement parallel to shaft 3 and a cover 12 fixed to casing 11 and having a recess to receive a time card, the recess providing positioning surfaces (15, 16), Fig. 2 (not shown), for the card. On correct insertion of a time card, a locking slide 18 is moved to the right, Fig. 1, against the action of a leaf spring 19 to free the end of a pin 20. Cover 12 and casing 11 may now be pressed downwards against the action of springs 14 (only one shown) and guided by bolts 10 (only one shown) with the freed end of pin 20 entering a recess 22; simultaneously the time card is brought into contact with time stamp 7 to receive a radial mark from rib 8 and a reference cipher from ciphers 9. Time stamp 7 is mounted on a support 5 frictionally clutched to shaft 3 by means of disc spring 6. Cover 12 and casing 11 are preferably of transparent plastics with the former having a time scale printed on its lower surface. As shown, the mechanism 2 is clockwork wound via a winding shaft 4, but may be electric, and time stamp 7 may punch rather than print a time mark.
