Regulating; multi-stage centrifugal pumps; impellers in parallel.-Two or more impellers are caused to work either in series or in parallel by adjustment of guide-blocks m, s in the suction inlet of the impellers other than the first of the series. The guide-blocks are rotatable around the shaft and are ported so as to connect the suction of the impeller to either the main inlet g or to the discharge from the previous impeller when running as a multi-stage pump. The blocks s, m may be moved by any means such as a worm and wheel gear. Valves p, p<1> in the delivery may be hand-operated independently or in conjunction with the guide-blocks; or these valves may be actuated by the fluid pumped. The pump shown is of the kind described in Specification 107,226.
