Abstract

1322777 Toy block sets DART INDUSTRIES Inc 7 Aug 1970 [8 Aug 1969] 38272/70 Heading A6S Blocks incorporate a cubical structure having a main body portion 20 (Fig. 11), formed as a basic cube of six side-wall faces 28 and having one rounded edge or corner 32. This block 20 includes two centrally-located recesses 26 one of which is positioned on one of the side-walk faces that forms the rounded edge 32 and the other is located on the side wall face opposite to it. Three males members 24 are on the remaining three side-wall faces. Figs. 3 and 5 are similar except for the positioning of the members and the incorporation of an integral outwardly projecting secondary portion 22. The secondary portions 22 are T- shaped and comprise a web 34 and a cap-like portion 36. The web 34 is integrally formed with and is centrally located at one of the sidewall faces 28 of the main body portion 20. The secondary portion 22 also complies with the cubical modular concept of the block design, for example the top of the cap-like portion is of approximately the same size and shape as a side-wall face 28. Two further block forms are shown in Figs. 7 and 9. The toy blocks set can also include an additional component of wheels 12 and hubs 14, Figs. 13, 14 and 15. The wheels 12 include a centre opening 13 into which the male members 24 extend. Similarly the hub 14 also includes a tubular portion 15 to slip into the wheel opening over the male member. The hub 14 further includes a flange 17 whose diameter is greater than the wheel opening. Preferably the pieces are made from hollow synthetic resinous material. The blocks may be so assembled as to form a toy cine-camera, Fig. 1 (not shown).
