1322174 Torch burner nozzle L S GEDDES 6 Oct 1970 [23 Oct 1969] 51969/69 Heading F4T [Also in Division C1] In a nozzle assembly for a torch burner, an outer sleeve 1 has a reduced internal diameter portion 2, which has a screw thread 4 to adjustably secure it to a nose piece of a torch burner 5, and a larger internal diameter portion 3 containing an inner member 7 with faces 11 forming with the sleeve member 1 axial passageways 8, the inner member 7 being secured to the sleeve 1 by a screw 9. A central axial bore 12 and peripherally arranged axial bores 13 are formed in inner member 7 and open into a recess 15 which co-operates with the nose piece of torch burner 5, adjustment of their relative positions controlling fuel flow through bores 13. Radial bores 14 connect central bore 12 to passageways 8. In another embodiment (Figs. 3 and 4, not shown), the peripherally arranged axial bores lie on two circles of different radii, radial bores being provided to connect the outer circle of axial bores to the axial passageway 1. As the nose piece moves away from the inner member, first the inner circle then the outer circle of axial bores are brought into use.
