1514353 Oil burners K S H HULTGREN 2 Feb 1976 [6 Feb 1975] 3950/76 Heading F4T An oil burner head comprises a nozzle 6 at the outlet end of a fuel pipe 4 inside a shroud 7 carried by the outlet end of an air supply duct 5, and an annular air-directing member 9 surrounding the nozzle 6 and defining with the shroud 7 an annular gap 11 which can be varied by relative movement of the shroud and the member 9, the internal cross-section of the shroud varying along the axis and having a minimum value at a location between its ends, and one or more slits 12 through the shroud at said location extending around a greater part of the periphery. The or each slit may lie in a radial or an inclined plane. The member 9 has a cylindrical part for mounting on the pipe 4, and a conical part surrounding the nozzle 6.
