Abstract

1321927 Open end spinning frame SOC ALSACIENNE DE CONSTRUCTIONS MECANIQUES DE MULHOUSE 8 June 1971 [17 June 1970] 19330/71 Heading DID In an open end spinning frame thread 42 emerging from each of the spindles 11 passes through a thread guiding element 72 in a thread guide rod 71. On stopping of the frame, either intentionally or in the event of a power failure, the rod 71 is moved to the left by a pneumatic cylinder 91 via rack 94 and gears 95, 97 to create a reserve loop of yarn. The rod then moves back slightly under the action of spring 101 to relieve yarn tension. Movement of rod 71 is activated by a tachometric device 152 mounted on the main motor 24 when the spindle speed drops below a certain value. On restarting the frame when the spindles again reach said speed the tachometric device engages the fibre feed by electromagnetic clutch 32 and turns rod 71 to release the yarn ends which are sucked into spindles 11 and piece up. The rod 71 then returns to its operating position and is oscilated by motor 86 to distribute wear on the delivery rollers 43, 44. Rotation of rod 71 is actuated by pneumatic ram 111 via rack 114 and pinion 115. Suction is provided at the spindles 11 by a pump 64 and a manometric switch Ml only allows the main motor 24 to operate while suction is applied. A detailed description of the interrelationship of the switches, relays and valves of the control circuit is given in the specification together with details of the mechanical component parts of the frame.
