Abstract

1321502 Mounting lamps SOC DES ACCUMULATEURS FIXES ET DE TRACTION 26 July 1971 [24 July 1970] 35049/71 Heading F4R A lighting unit for mounting in a recess in a supporting wall comprises two strips 22 which extend into and are mounted on a support member 14 to frictionally engage for slidable adjustment opposite sides thereof, and a lamp 38 supported by and between the strips such that it is pivotable about an axis passing through the strips. The strips 22 are non-metallic and have slots 24, 26 formed therein to engage headed pins 28, 30. The circular bowl support member 14 is rotatably mounted in an aperture 12 of a supporting wall 10 that may enclose power cells for driving the lamp 38, which may be of the sealed beam type. The metal bowl 14 is snapped into recess 12 and held in place between flange 18 and pin 28. The bowl 14 has an aperture 20 to facilitate cooling. As shown, the lamp 38 is clamped between the outer ends of the strips 22. The light beam is adjustable within a cone of angle 190 degrees in an example.
